How many users typically use the forgotten password stream?

I was wondering what the "standard" level of use of the stream "forgot my password" on other e-commerce / industry sites? Right now, not many people are looking at the "forgot password" link on my website, but mainly because most people don't have passwords. I am in the process of setting up a new login (which will encourage people to create passwords), so I expect the number of people who follow the "forgot password" link to grow, but I do not have any real baseline for comparison.

Does anyone know that a typical percentage of users are performing a stream of "forgotten passwords"?

A typical user will probably be asked to log in once every four weeks. Our password requirements are currently minimal.

This should probably be in the pro webmaster version.

However, I think that it depends mainly on the content of the website and the user base. If your site is sorted when you log in once every few months, then you will likely have a higher percentage of people using the forgotten link.

If every user visits the site every day, for example, facebook,% is likely to be much lower.

It will also depend on your password policies. If you need non-alphanumeric numbers, you will have more queries.

In fact, it doesn’t matter that% of people use it if the logic behind it is safe and does not allow it.

I do not think that these numbers are available because they depend on many different factors:

  • How often do users access the service?
  • Are logins stored in a cookie, if so, for how long?
  • Are there any password restrictions, such as minimum length?
  • What are the disadvantages of creating a new account (any loss of information or just a name?)
  • This is a service that should usually be accessible from multiple computers.

... there are several parameters that come to mind.

On many platforms that I managed, this is basically a common thread. But it depends on the platform, on its formality and function. Although this will be normal on simple social networks like blogs, you will not often see this on sites where there is money, or at least this is what I saw from my own experience.

Our password requirements are currently minimal.

I am sure that this has a lot to do with your low interest, but if you do not carry any confidential information, you should not change it.
