PHP function pronunciation str_?

Yesterday I was going to use "str_replace" in the sentence, and I realized that I had no idea how to say it. I am the only developer where I work, and I understand that many PHP function names are abstractions in my head, and I would say that it funny pronounces them like my brain does.

In particular, I say "str" just like in my head, but seriously ... "struh"?

Any thoughts? Other features that you have encountered and how to pronounce them?

Replace "str" with "string": "String replace". They are not meant to be pronounced, so just tell them in some way what your colleagues will understand - and this will not make you seem like you had a hit.

I usually say "ESS TEE ARR replace", but I heard that the C guys do STERR.

The term "str" is simply abbreviated for "string", so it may be best to use the full word in the spoken language.

This should work for many other unspeakable cuts.
