When will xslt 2.0 finish

I really want to start development in xslt 2.0, but I heard that xslt 2.0 is not yet supported in browsers. Is there an expected date when xslt 2.0 will be executed and when it will be supported in browsers?

In my opinion, XSLT 2.0 has already finished:

W3c recommendation

But I'm really not sure if it is already supported.

Edit:

Wikipedia says:

XSLT was developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The most recent version is XSLT 2.0 [4], which reached W3C recommendation status on January 23, 2007. However, since 2010, XSLT 1.0 [5] has been widely used since there are no products supporting XSLT 2.0 running in the browser, as well as in some important server environments such as LAMP.

XSLT and XPath 2.0 have been around for more than three years, so they’re made. There are various implementations. As for support in browsers, this is not enough, and I have not heard that any of the major browser developers planned to support it. Therefore, running XSLT 2.0 is certainly possible, client-side XSLT 2.0 is not possible.

Saxonica's Michael Kay is working on a client-side XSLT 2 implementation, implemented in Java and translated into Javascript with GWT. Watch out for http://saxonica.com

The same thing will happen with XQuery, above: http://mxquery.org/
