Chat for programmers

Can someone point out some chats for coding, IRC servers, or any other way by which I could contact professional or indie programmers live? I was not lucky to find such chats, as you look up, as usual, tutorials for writing chats, etc. (One of the problems caused by our profession).

This is for short questions and quick answers (for example, what is called).

Freenode has very good (and very active) channels for programming. For example, #python is especially good.

irc.freenode.net - server address. You can also try: webchat.freenode.net to use Freenode from your web browser.

Why do you need a chat? Although chats are suitable for quick questions (and random plaques), if you have a question, it usually has the appropriate, correct answer and in this case the forum or -Gods forbid- QA site will be the right place for this, no matter how big or a small question.
