we are trying to transfer our team from cvs to git.
Our goals 1) perfect current code base 2) useful history. If he does not have enough entries in the old branch, we do not care.
Two comments:
Even with a local copy of the cvs repository, it takes a very long time. Dry run took more than 24 hours (7.5 GB cvs codebase, P4 2.0 ghz machine, 2gb RAM, 10K disks. Git smoothed it to 1.8 gb). Since CVS itself occupies 99% of the processor, I assume that it is tied to the CPU. Any way to speed it up?
Stdout has tons of warnings. Which ones matter? Which ones are not?
