A way to watch url in urlbar firefox and get event every time it changes

Question

I need this for my Firefox extension. I don’t care about fully loading the page load, I only want to watch the URL and get the event every time it changes, also when I do the story back and forth.

edit: I saw an observer for changing a URL (Firefox extension) , but I wonder if there is something much simpler, like an event that fires every time a URL is part of an action, like requesting a page, history back and forward ecc ..
