Git files changed after cleaning

Question

I did git checkout master . If I do git status , it shows two changed files in my working directory, although I did not touch them. This seems to be a line ending problem.

git reset --hard HEAD doesn't help either.

I set core.ignorecase=true does not help.

What is wrong here? Git on Windows is still listening to me like hell ...

Have you core.autocrlf to false (especially on Windows)?

See this answer for good reason to leave it false.

Other reasons may include a .gitattribute filter .gitattribute , which will make some changes to the contents of the file.
