What is the current king of the hill for rich text editors?

Just wondering: what is the current king of the hill for rich text editors?

The last time I checked (many years ago), it was TinyMCE, now is there a better option?

thanks a lot

I prefer ckeditor . it has fewer errors than tinymce and it has more free plugins

I like tinyMCE because it is very simple and very simple to implement. It also allows you to automatically clean Word guff from paste, which is very convenient.

Not sure if you can be final here, but CKEditor (formerly fckeditor) is really solid.

If you add the ckeditor and fckeditor search terms together, this can lead to overtaking TinyMCE ...

I'm not sure which server platform you are using, but I have always been a big fan of Telerik RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX. There is also one for MVC .

The ASP.NET AJAX version is far from free, but it is by far the most powerful and diverse wysiwyg editor I have ever seen. Amazing file browser, fantastic skins, customizable buttons, everything you expect from a rich text editor.

EDIT:
I see that you really asked for the textarea editor, which probably means that you are looking for something exclusively JavaScript. Sorry, this tool does not. This is actually an ASP.NET control.
