Delphi became unregistered when I upgraded to Windows 7

I successfully use DELPHI 6 with Vista, however after upgrading to Windows 7 my Delphi 6 is no longer registered. Even after successfully registering online, it will not save it and, as such, will never be registered. How can I register it?

Solved the problem on Win 10:

  • In the register HKEYCU->SOFTWARE->BORLAND->6.0 delete the line LM (REG_BINARY)
  • Save
  • Run the Delphi Registration Form with an Embarcadero Account

Now Delphi 6 should be registered and working properly.

Several possible solutions:

  • Use Windows XP mode for Windows 7 to run Delphi 6.
  • Launch Delphi 6 as Administrator using elevated privileges (for example, using this trick ).
  • Launch Delphi 6 in a virtual machine (actually: Windows XP mode is also VM)
