In the menu for "...", should I use an ellipsis or only three dots?

The Microsoft link says nothing, but it seems like every user uses three dots (...), not the unicode sign (...).

Is everything all right, or maybe there are some recommendations that I don’t know about, I recommend using the unicode sign?

I think it is safer to use three dots because some fonts / systems may misinterpret the single character "...".
