Using git-svn without adding git-svn-id

Is it possible to use git-svn without adding git-svn-id: entries to my commit message?

I found that the svn.noMetadata option contains a warning (my highlight):

This eliminates the git-svn-id: lines at the end of each commit.

If you lose a .git / svn / git-svn / .rev_db file , git svn will not be able to restore it, and you will not be able to receive it either. This is normal for one-shot imports.

The git svn log command will not work in repositories using this. Using this contradicts the useSvmProps option for (hopefully) obvious reasons.

Is there a risk of data corruption by simply relying on the .rev_db file or a warning just flagged that there is a risk of display loss?

Last: everything is unrecognizable as long as you have a database.
