Something like filehamster (revision system), but open source?

I know subversion, but sometimes I want something simpler, like plain old files with just stamping files automatically. http://www.filehamster.com/ does this, but I would prefer something open source. Does anyone know anything like this?

Try AutoVer It (possibly abandoned) is free and works great for me. I install backup files every time I click save with a minimum interval of 1 minute. Then you can move files through it. You can back up to ftp and even have a command after the backup so that you can integrate with command line tools like diff. I also found a page with an opening panel for Eloi , which aims to do something similar in appearance, but still in development.

You can try the software that I wrote called FolderTrack . This is an automatic version control system. And the user interface is open source. Visitors here can have a free license using the BOS discount code
