IP Address Ranges for EC2

Question

Is there public information about which public IP addresses Amazon EC2 uses? I would like to be able to search for an IP address and know if this is an EC2 machine. I know that the DNS name assigned to EC2 computers makes us understand that this is an EC2 account, but I really prefer to have access to the IP address.

There are several different sources, but none of them are surprising.

BigJoe mentions https://forums.aws.amazon.com/ann.jspa?annID=1701 . (If this is broken, try finding top stickiness in the forum .)

There is also http://ec2-reachability.amazonaws.com/ , which is a shorter list as it contains several narrower ranges for testing IP routing.

For a processed version of these two in a more machine-readable format, you can try https://github.com/ab/ec2-ip .
