Is it good to run two instances of Cocoa application at the same time?

I am downloading and installing an application that needs to run several times at the same time. However, is it wise to do this? My application uses the /tmp to save temporary downloads. Each application instance needs its own dock icon, so I use multiple instances.

Is it dangerous to have multiple instances of the same application at the same time? Why or why not? Thanks.

No, I can not use Installer.app. And yes, it's about the Mac !

As long as you do not change the same resources (without precaution), you are fine.

You can easily run multiple instances (almost?) Of any Mac application through a terminal. For example, enter this several times into the shell:

 /Applications/Calculator.app/Contents/MacOS/Calculator &

Each time you press the enter button, you will see another calculator. This is only Finder / open , which only launches the application once.
