How do I know if my application is running in the background or foreground?

I am making a Windows Mobile 6.5 application using C sharp.

In the application, I open the default browser in the case. When I open the browser, the application is still running in the background. But I want the application not to start, and when the user returns to the application, the application starts again.

So, I should know that the application starts in the background or in the foreground. How to find out what ???

If anyone knows this, answer me. Thanks in advance.
