Wordpress and Ruby on rails

I am new to Wordpress and Ruby on rails. These (WP and ruby on rails) two are a powerful tool for creating any good website.

I saw on Wordpress and Ruby on the official rails website that some of the popular websites (twitter, WSJ, etc.) use these two.

Please give me a brief idea.

It really depends on what you want, what you have and how you want. Wordpress "supposedly" is a blogging CMS, but its so flexible you can even use it for web applications. (Of course, you will need to write your plugins in php). If you just want to create a simple website and you are not too tech-minded, I would say that Wordpress is a Go-to platform. If you have some time at your fingertips taking web applications seriously, Rails is a pretty advanced web application framework that is definitely worth it. So really, it depends.

Well, using both seems pretty impractical. Both are focused on a different use case. Rails is for web applications, while WP is better for regular websites.
