Auto-fill text on screen

Question

Does anyone know why the search text remains at the bottom of the screen (as shown in the image below). Steps to get there:

• Select location search
• qwerty keyboard appears.
• autocomplete appears over qwerty

• click "Finish" and the autocomplete text will remain on the screen and move down, but the search is called

. This does not always happen.

• With KeyEvent.ACTION_UP, the search text “sticks” to the screen when you click “Finish” ... goes directly to the search
• With KeyEvent.ACTION_MULTIPLE, "Done" closes qwerty, and the user must click the search button to start the search

If you need a word, I think the keyboard does this with smart text. If only a list of items is required (country only), you should use Spinner.
