JDK 1.6 GC AdaptiveSizeThroughPutPolicy

Please explain the detailed VALUE used in the GC option:

-XX:AdaptiveSizeThroughPutPolicy

The default value is 0. Does this value mean VALUE - the number of steps to use the heuristic before using real data ?. What are the consequences of using high (e.g. 50 or 100) or low (e.g.: 0)

The best way I know to understand these secret options goes directly to the source: psAdaptiveSizePolicy.cpp

It seems that 1 and! = 1 is the only right choice.

-XX:AdaptiveSizeThroughPutPolicy=1 used in coordination with -XX:AdaptiveSizePolicyInitializingSteps=VALUE .
