Android Maps NullPointerException ItemizedOverlay

This does not apply to all my code at all. How do I get to the end?

Actually, the problem is not the implementation of your ItemizedOverlay, but the implementation of your MapActivity. As you can see from a similar stack trace here on line 42, the OverlayBundle calls the draw () method of Overlay. This indicates a null overlap that you added to your mapView somewhere.

Some useful hints: You should definitely pass drawable to your super constructor (used for impact testing) by uncommenting the first line of code that you already have:

  public SitesOverlay() { //super(null); super(boundCenter(defaultMarker)); //items = getMainOverlayArray(); //items = mOverlays; populate(); }

and potentially not calling the super.draw () method in the draw () method.

  @Override public void draw(Canvas canvas, MapView mapView, boolean shadow) { // why do you do this if you paint it yourself later on. super.draw(canvas, mapView, false

Most likely, you will actually have to do both.

Edit:. Think about it, you should definitely pass on to your super constructor how it is used for impact testing. Changed the text above to reflect this.
