Required to track the problem, for general use, not just software

I am looking for a free or commercial tracker. I looked at a dozen of them, but I can’t find what I need.

These are my requirements:

  • Not just for software. I need a more general tracker, which can also be recorded "complaints" about products other than software.
  • Very easy to use, for non-technical users
  • (optional) text editing, the ability to add images between lines, etc.

I looked at Bugzilla, SupportSuite, Mantis, but this is for many programs oriented to my case.

Or take the mining to Gemini - we have IT equipment, a help desk and all our software projects in one place. Twins allow different "metadata" for each type of project, so this works for us. Look at their "white paper" - may help you in terms of customization.

Strange, no one mentioned Trello [ www.trello.com ]

His:

  • common goal
  • Tracking software can also be performed.
  • Collaborating with multiple people
  • Free to use [Even for multiple users]
  • Designed for non-technical users

Perfect for your use case.

Generally commercial ones are more polished than open source, here are a few options:

  • Atlassian JIRA is an industry veteran, a very complete solution. If you have a small team (up to 5 people), they also had a very cheap version.
  • JetBrains YouTrack is a relative novice, perhaps too "keyboard oriented" for your needs.

You may be looking for a service like http://getsatisfaction.com/ or http://uservoice.com/ . They are very customer oriented, and I saw how they were used both for software products and for feedback on other issues.

In addition, I got Mantis to receive email directly with both new and existing problems - f.ex. if the subject contains a problem number, such as [1234], the email becomes a 1234 release note.

Thus, the client does not know about Mantis, you can pay for Mantis with release numbers, and you can customize the workflow in Mantis very much in accordance with your process needs.

In addition, you may have separate projects in Mantis that can receive from different email addresses, for example, one for errors and one for support.

Try Assembla , I'm not sure if it's free or what.

Or you can try with googling jira
