Can I convert an assembly to a Strong-Named assembly without recompiling?

I found a Microsoft KB article :

But it looks like they want me to recompile after I created the key pair. Is there a way to just convert an assembly into a strong named assembly without recompiling?

You can use the Signer tool to sign an unsigned assembly.

You can.

Use sn.exe and al.exe tools for a strong build name.

See this howto.
