Magento website / store / store organization

I have two (example) domains:

  • euro-shoes.com
  • us-shoes.com

I need them to be connected to the same Magento installation. They share most of the design elements, and they share the catalog. Each of them has three translations: English, French and German.

I tried to set up two stores as stores, and translations as stores (three per store). But the problem is that when I go to "System> Configuration", I cannot change the scope in the Store. I can simply change it to a website or as a store. This means that any changes that I want to make for one domain or another need to be done three times: once for English, once for French and once for German. At that moment, I realized that I could go against the design of Magento.

Given my situation, should euro-shoes.com and us-shoes.com be made instead of stores? If not, what would be the best organization?

Yes. Make euro-shoes.com and us-shoes.com sites instead of stores. The efforts saved thanks to this are noteworthy and deserve attention.

You can change "System> Configuration> Client Configuration> Account Sharing Settings" to "Global" so that clients can continue to switch between websites.

Also note that the repository switch, which is usually viewed on topics, does not work for individual sites, so you will need to find a replacement .

if you do not need order level separation, can you configure two types of storage and add a custom language switch instead?

Pseudocode:

<?php $store->setLocaleCode('locale_code', $store->getId()));?>
