Description and contact on the Mercurial web page

Question

I am currently in the process of migrating CVS to Mercurial.

http://jstock.hg.sourceforge.net/hgweb/jstock/

I would like information on contacts and descriptions on the mercurial page.

I look at https://www.mercurial-scm.org/wiki/PublishingRepositories#Putting_useful_information_in_the_index_page

But it seems that modifying to C:\Projects\jstock\.hg\hgrc has no effect. push will not update anything on the sourceforge server.

So, does this mean the only way to remotely access the sourceforge mercurial server and manually modify the hgrc file?

I am trying to ssh to a remote machine.

But cannot find hgrc file.

The .hg/hgrc contains local settings and is not itself a versioned file. These settings are not moved from one repository to another using the hg clone , hg push or hg pull commands.

If you want to edit the hgrc file of the source forge repository, you must use the Sourceforge interactive shell function.

I assume that the sourceforge server will not consider your repo .hg/hgrc due to trust rules . The web server user needs to have a trust block in which they trust you with .hgrc files, which is a risk since it allows you to execute code as a web server user.

If there is a way to do this, the solution will be due to what with strong sourceforge-fu, and not with mercurial-fu.
