Application Engine Queue Waiting Limit

How long can a task stand in a task queue waiting for processing before something happens? If this is not forever, what are these events that may occur?

Is it possible to add a very large number of tasks to the queue with a very low processing speed and force them to process for days / weeks / months?

Are tasks removed from the queue if they wait too long for their skull?

"Quota and task queue limits" reports

maximum countdown/ETA for a task:30 days from the current date and time

I think that this is a deliberate / programmatic definition of eta in the future, and not how long the task can wait in line.

There is no limit to the number of tasks that you can have in your queue, except for the amount of storage that you have allocated for storing tasks. There is also no limit on how much time they can wait to complete, although, as you point out, you cannot schedule a task with ETA for more than 30 days in the future.

As far as I know, they last forever. I had some in their days. Now I have those who are 9 days old, although the queue is suspended. The only limitation is the size and number of queues ( which are not currently enforced ).
