I install phpmyadmin on my ubuntu but its not working

I install phpmyadmin on my ubuntu 10.4 but it cannot be logged in

this is the contents of the file /etc/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php

if we enter the password # 2002 Unable to login to MySQL server

if we do not enter a password Logging in without a password is prohibited by the configuration (see AllowNoPassword)

Can you help me?

If you use an empty password:

 // $cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPassword'] = TRUE;

It is safe if you are in an isolated development virtual machine, otherwise set a password.

I had the same problem, but I think I might have sorted it out.

Solution: Assuming you used the setup.php file to install phpMyAdmin, once you have completed the mysql server setup and you saved the changes, copy the config.inc.php file automatically created in config / folder to phpMyAdmin. Make sure it is write-protected and removes the configuration / folder. Then refresh your browser.

Worked for me .. I hope this works for you too.

Greetings.
