How to create / use Calendar in Android app (not as intent)

I am working on an Android application that requires it to have a synced Google calendar. I cannot use intent to display Android Calendar activity. It must be part of the application. The calendar occupies only half the screen, and the rest of the area should be filled with the contents of the application.

  • Can someone tell me how to do this?
  • Would I need to create a new custom calendar as a view? Or is it even impossible?
  • Is any custom calendar view available so I can plug it in and use it?

Use the Google Calendar GData API.

Android does not have a calendar widget. You will need to create it yourself or find a third-party widget for this.

No, that I know, although you can find it through a search engine.
