Case sensitive javascript

How to make the variable "Partnum" case insensitive. When I run the script, it will not detect "aBcd" if I search for "abcd". I'm not sure what to do.

For the spell, here is the answer. Although @Freddie was the first to mention this.

becomes:

 // get list of known part # from the spreadsheet var parts = ss.getRange(starting_row,3,9999,1).getValues(); var found = false; for (var i=0,l=parts.length;i<l;++i) { if (parts[i].toLowerCase()==partnum.toLowerCase()) { // <-- NOTE CHANGE HERE
