Is there a way to get an infinite webpage using ajax?

I know that we can get endless web pages that can scroll down and right? Is there a way to get the same effect (with ajax requests and without flash or Silverlight) that can be scrolled in each direction? IF there is an example of this, I want: D. Thanks for your time.

Yeah why not? Example:

Basically, this is the same logic as loading content when you get to the bottom of it, it only requires a movable div in the shell and to check borders in all directions.
