How to create xib file with smaller view?

Can I create a smaller view of the iPad screen using UI Builder in xCode 4? If so, how?

I need to create a small View, which I will use several times in the same main UIView. I would like to create it using UI Builder and then download it from xib.

But when I create a new xib file, the size of the view is always the size of the iPad. thanks

When you create a new view, just select the "Empty" option, not the "View" option.

Then you can remove the UIView on it - the difference is that you can resize this view using the size inspector (small ruler icon) in the utilities area. (Left).

In Xcode 5, resize to Freeform in the Simulated Metrics section of the Attributes Inspector

Select the view (UIView, I have to say), then go to the attribute inspector panel and change the size to Freeform, with which we can now adjust the size of the view.
