Editing javascript file in Tomcat web application

I edited the .js file which is included in the .jsp file, but when I pack and deploy the war, the javascript behavior does not change. I use maven as a package manager. I executed mvn clean, compiled, packaged and deployed the war to the webapps directory in the catalina_base directory, and also deleted the old web application folder.

Hum ... Dumb question, but did you clear your browser cache? If you did, try stopping the server and restarting it (with the war file in the deployment folder). Also, look here and here to learn about exploded contexts and the application manager so you can achieve a faster development cycle.

Make sure your web browser does not have a cached resource.

Of course, it is also possible that the change you made does not lead to the desired behavior. Browse the source (and headers) of the javascript file sent to your browser to see if changes appear.
