WCF Error - Reference.cs is empty (empty)

I added a service link to my project and created all the necessary wsdl files. But when I looked at the reference.cs file, I found it empty.

you can right-click in the created service link and click Configure service reference... under DataType UnCheck Reuse types in referenced assemblies

This happens if the links to add services fail.

We saw this crash with very large contracts where the response size is larger than the configured size in WCF.
