Integration of Neo4J and Terracotta?

Has anyone tried or even thought about using a terracotta solution (e.g. ehcache) to run / store Neo4J?

I understand that Neo4J has high availability, but it's really just replication. I wish I really wanted this distributed graph solution, hence neo4j on something like ehcache.

Any thoughts / suggestions?
