To advertise the app on AdMob, you select the "Destination URL" that users click on when they click on your ad. The destination URL for the Android Market may look like this:
market:
You also need to enter a "display URL" that gives users a preview of what they will see as soon as they click on your ad. I could see that this URL is (a) the same as above, or (b) the web equivalent:
market.android.com/details?id=com.example.myapplication
The problem is that Google imposes a 35 character limit on the display URL, and I understand that they no longer accept exception requests for this. I understand that Google is doing this to block such URLs:
www.GoogleThinksThisIsTooLong.com/HereIsEvenMore/AndMore/
How can I get around this without republishing the application with a ridiculous short package name? The general segment is "market: // details? Id = com". already 24 characters, and "market.android.com/details?id=com". is 34 characters!
