Server execution error when trying to start the DCOM component with any other user except the Administrator

After noon,

As stated in this thread, I get this error when I try to start a web application that uses the DCOM agent.

"Fetching the factory COM class for a component with CLSID {82154420-0FBF-11D4-8313-005004526AB4} failed due to the following error: 80080005 Server execution failed (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE)).

I created the user only to start it, but I can not start it.

If I change the "identity" in the dcomcnfg.exe file, as well as the working user in AppPool for the administrator, it works instantly, but with the user user, not.

For troubleshooting purposes, I even added the user to the Administrators group, but he still won’t work.

The OpenOffice 3.3 component, by the way, is installed without QuickStart and with Active-X support, and I'm trying to convert .ODT to .PDF

Any help would be very helpful.

Regards, LP

AbcPdf 9.125 will have to work with OpenOffice 4.1.2 on a Windows 2012 R2 server and end up with the same issue. Took me a day to set it up correctly.

Despite the configuration of DCOM, OpenOffice does not start with a virtual IIS application pool account.

ABCPDF: http://www.websupergoo.com/support-open-office-org.htm

Open office and virtual account: http://mytestdata.blogspot.fr/2014/04/configure-open-office-for-virtual.html

Spying with a process monitor will show that the process freezes until it reaches a timeout.

To make it work:

  • Copy the OpenOffice user settings from your interlocutor to C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\
  • Open C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenOffice 4\program\bootstrap.ini and change the following line: UserInstallation=File:///C:/Users/Default/AppData/Roaming/OpenOffice/4 ( mind three times after the file :)

Hope this helps
