Tab icon in itext

I wrote code to create a report using it. To do this, I need to add a header that looks like

BSJ Economy Report Date:31/12/10 

To do this, I need to put a tab character (\ t) between the lines above. But I can't recognize the tab character in itext.I used "\ t" and "\ t". It was not a job. Please help me solve this problem.

Sounds like a job for a table with three columns. Or perhaps a ColumnText drawing into the same rectangle with three different alignments?
