Cocoa application menu - how to recreate?

Inside MainMenu.xib, I deleted the default main menu, which automatically provides you with the application menu (along with the File / Edit / Format / View / Window / Help menu).

What steps should I take to add this back to my application?

I would create a new application and then copy only the Main Menu back to MainMenu.xib
