Simulator hangs when compressing video in UIImagePicker

I managed, after some hassle, to get a video on the iphone simulator. Now when I go to the media album using UIImagePicker, I see the video and play it. When I then click the Select button, the simulator is held in the Video Compression ... dialog box.

I use iOS 4.3, I was unsuccessful when it came to downloading video to sim 4.2. I tried using the .mov file that was made on ipod touch, the .m4v file that I created in iTunes from this .mov file, and the random .m4v file from a completely different source (which I created using Quicktime 7).

Is this a famous hassle with a simulator? Am I doing something wrong?

My only suggestion here is to build it on the device and see what happens.

This is a late answer, but you can fix it by following this procedure:

go to the simulator hardware menu and select TV out: 640x480

after that, try to run the application from xcode

and then go back to the simulator hardware menu and select TV out: Disabled.
