Research / research OpenCL

I am going to start a project of my honors in Uni on OpenCL and how it can be used to improve modern game development. I know there are several books on opencl training right now, but I was wondering if anyone has any good opencl docs.

I searched, but didn't seem to find. Part of my project requires a literary review and contrast, so any help on this subject will be appreciated.

I will not point you directly to any documents; instead, I will give you some tips on where to look for them.

  • A Google scientist , one of the best places on the Internet to search for documents in any subject. The search for "opencl game development" showed some interesting results right on the first page; there are certainly other valuable results on the following pages.
  • IEEE Explore ; IEEE is one of the de facto institutions on all computers and electronics; their journals and conferences have many publications on OpenCL in particular and parallel processing in general. The IEEE Explore is their search engine, although usually all articles are also listed on Google Scholar (but it may be easier to find using the IEEE study).
  • ACM Digital Libray ; ACM is a large and important institution such as IEEE, but with even greater emphasis on computing. Here you will find many works on OpenCL.
  • Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc .; sometimes when all else fails, using conventional search engines can go a long way. You can find information about ongoing projects, important blogs on game developers' blogs, etc. All of them can be valid links if there are not so many of them (be sure to make sure that they are really good before completing them wrong).

You should advertise articles published in scientific journals: a) documents or extended abstracts published in conference proceedings; b) corporate articles not verified by experts, usually found on the respective websites of the corporation; c) articles published in journals of general scientific knowledge (e.g. Scientific American, etc.).

Sometimes you may not be given access to certain securities that you will be offered to purchase. Universities usually have subscriptions to many journals, or as such, you may be able to try to download PDF files when accessing the network inside your institution. If you are unlucky, sometimes authors put “preliminary / incomplete” copies of articles on their sites (sometimes they even put a questionably legitimate published copy). In extreme cases, you can always directly contact the authors, they will most likely send you an article by e-mail (these are their own interests).

Finally, to find out OpenCL, I found that a reference manual mix reference card and see examples from Intel , AMD , Nvidia, and the IBM SDK go a long way. Without a doubt, the book will help, although I cannot recommend it to you because I have not read it.

This is probably not the answer you wanted, but believe me, this is the answer you need in order to do a good job.

Good luck
