Temporarily disable the power / reset button on Windows 7

I am looking for some C # code or tool that allows you to turn off the power and reset button on the desktop PC.

This means that the baby does not press the reset / power button on the tower.

I'm using this program ( Toddler Keys ) right now to disconnect drives, but unfortunately, the power option only works in XP

Update

I found ShutdownGuard , which is close to the task.

The best solution for a tower is equipment - for example, a piece of plexiglass in front of the tower. Depending on your baby and the level of supervision that you provide, you can simply reinforce it in front or with Velcro in place. If the tower is on a shelf, attaching plexiglass to the shelf is even better.

Here are two non-coding solutions: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic117236.html

  • Pull the cable out of the switch;)
  • Change the setting in the Windows power settings (see the link for details).

I think you will not be lucky with software solutions for this, since reset and a long press on the power is processed by the motherboard. It’s best to remove the buttons from your connections on the motherboard and replace them with your own buttons, which you can put out of reach.
