For a maven project in eclipse, I can configure the Project / Clean menu item to call mvn clean

Is there a way to bind an external build command to an eclipse clean action?

If this helps, I use:

  • Apache Maven 2.2.1
  • Eclipse Galileo 3.5
  • M2Eclipse plugin (which, as I know, offers the ability to run mvn clean)

In the section "Project properties" → Maven → Life cycle display, you can configure what goals should be run AFTER clean work in this project

In general, you can connect any external tool that will be called during a certain event in the assembly life cycle by going to the "Project Properties" → "Builders" page. There you can identify a new tool and indicate when it should work.
