Is it possible to simulate a certain state of the Internet connection ("3G", "H", ...)

I want to test my application always in the many possible states of the Internet connection. Is it possible to simulate the indicated state of the Internet connection (for example, β€œ3G” or β€œH”) without leaving my position?

You can use something like WANEM, which allows you to change the characteristics of your Internet connection, such as packet loss.

From your question, I believe that this is not quite what you are looking for, but perhaps it will give you another perspective.

The Network Emulation Toolkit can provide this functionality.

You can configure the machine through which your traffic passes and configure the frequency, latency, error rate, etc. manually or choose from some built-in profiles (for example, GPRS).

It will also give you the ability to control your current bandwidth and error rate.
