Why is mixing the jenkins merkin plugin merging?

I have a Jenkins work overseeing the Live branch in a mercury store. When I merge some changes in Live, commit, and push, Jenkins does not start the build.

Looking at the mercury survey journal, you can see

$ hg incoming --style <SomeFileUnderWorkspace> --no-merges 

I can’t believe that this is a mistake, but also can’t think of the reason you would like to ignore the merge.

This is annoying to our installation. I have to start assemblies manually when there is a merge.
