Flex 4.5.1 View transition states, how to optimize for mobile devices

I decided to go the way of using ViewNavigator and have one view with three states. Each state is a "page". It works great on the desktop, but when it is compiled for mobile devices, page transitions are very backward, even for Samsung Galaxy S. The phone has 2.7 runtimes, and I recompiled my application with ADT 2.7, but did not increase performance.

I also tried cacheAsBitmapMatrix on all 3 pages, which are all contained in VBox and did not show significant performance impacts. All I am changing is the VBox y component for each transition.

Anyone have any suggestions?

EDIT: I did some more research, and now I get to the point where I turned on hardware acceleration, and cacheAsBitmap = true and cacheAsBitmapMatrix = new Matrix (). I also use Stats.as to see FPS. I notice that with my state changes I go from 25 FPS to 2 and then come back again.

Do you use VBox? You should only use Spark components in Flex mobile applications - MX components are NOT optimized ... not at all.
