Do x86 and x64 mean anything in Windows Phone 7?

Question

As this screenshot shows, we can still choose x86, x64 and anycpu for the Windows Phone 7 application. But does the wp7 application have any meaning?

Since all Windows Phone devices work in the 32-bit ARM architecture, setting up the platform there does not matter.
