What is the acceptable value for Live Bytes in Intsruments?

I ran my iphone application optimizing to reduce memory, etc. I see that the current byte shows about 3.5 - 4 MB.

I was wondering what is acceptable. Lay the other way, which ceiling should I try to stay.

Related thoughts, at what level will I receive memory alerts, such as level 1 level 2 memory level warnings?

I assume this will have a direct correlation with my iphone device. Is there a matrix that we can build depending on the device. I am using iphone 3G

thanks a ton MB

if you stay up to 20 MB, everything should be fine, but, as always, the less you use, the better ;-).

as far as I know, it is not documented when memory warnings are triggered, probably because this is a detail of the implementation, and this can change at any time.

In any case, you should not pay too much attention to numbers (you do not know other processes related to memory consumption (safari caching pages, applications in the background using memory), just be a good ios citizen, make sure that you do not leak memory everywhere , and your application will work like a charm.
