Create a sprite chart of 400 plots?

Question

I need to create a sprite graphic, I hope this is the correct name for this to use this with jQuery to move this graphic from position to position so that it looks like a gif animation.

Since I have 400 graphic images (the same size) that should become one single image later, is there any way to create this sprite that will be automated using Photoshop CS5 or any other software? To create this sprite image from all of my 400 photos?

I've been looking for such a thing for several weeks ...

Some css sprite generators are already available. Just upload your images and it will automatically provide you with a sprite and css image file for it.

You can use sprite-me . Just put the link provided on the website, than open your website and run sprite-me, it will automatically show the images used on the website in groups, and when you click on the generated sprite you will get a sprite image and css.
