TIFF Group4 image processing in python

PIL does not support G4 images, is there another python package that does? I need to read multi-page TIFF images and convert them to gif / png on the fly in order to serve the web page. (I do not convert them all on the fly, but the cherry collects them for display).

I reviewed the use of ImageMagick, which has this conversion feature, but I would like to be able to access the TIFF files and see what is inside them for indexing.

Using PythonMagick :
