MICROS POS Integration

I have a desktop application for managing the external operations of restaurants, such as reservations, guest data, table turnover, online reservation support.

The problem I'm trying to solve is how to capture customer expenses and tables by integrating them into MICROS. I would like to know when the table is busy, when the check is printed, what is the total cost of the check paid by the client.

Any help on how and where to start will be appreciated. The MICROS site is rather vague as to what can be done.

-Thanks

I never used MICROS on purpose, but I used to be integrated with many systems, and usually I find that if you call them and say you want to integrate, they will usually tell you where their data is stored, and also use their software providing for purposes other than what they are intended may be copyright infringement if you do not ask; you also unofficially become a data processor for MICROS and you don’t want to get a lawsuit, so it’s probably best to ask.

In general, although you can probably find the data you need by simply performing one action before opening, so as not to confuse the questions and view the files in the installation directory until you find information about the action you just performed, take note and repeat for each action . Then you can look at the change directory, and if the file is one of those you care about, then process it. The best ones are often magazines, as they are usually plain text, updated in real time, easily accessible, and you can usually easily choose the templates you want.

You need to keep in mind that some data can only be displayed at the end of the day or transaction in a format that you can use again. I really recommend calling and asking.

One way to track this information is to create a polling application that runs on this microsystem. You will need read access to the database, and at best full access to dba. The layout is quite complex, but if you google something like "micros pos 3700 schema pdf", you will come across some resources to succeed. Also check out http://www.tek-tips.com/ and search for Micros if you go this route. There are examples of SQL and other users who have faced the same task of integrating with Micros. You can request things such as open checks, and when the check was closed. This may give you an idea of when it was printed, if you cannot find it on purpose.
