Why are iPhone.app files much larger than an .ipa file?

My new iPhone application has a .ipa file size (archived) of 2.8 MB, which is quite normal. But my. The file is much larger> 13 MB, and the AppStore describes the size of my application - 7.9 MB.

What causes this problem? Can I make the application size in the AppStore the same as my ipa file?

Thanks,

UPDATE:

  • When I unzip the .ipa file, I see a .app file that is 5.2 MB in size !!!. It seems that I have a differential configuration between these build settings. I wonder if I can use this application file to download (beta tester can use this anyway!)

  • When I use iTunes to sync a downloaded application from the AppStore, the .ipa size is> 13M (the same as my downloaded .app)

.ipa are compressed, which explains why they are smaller. I'm not sure why your .app file is much larger than what the App Store reports, unless Apple does some kind of image compression for the App Store.

Right-click the .app file in your assembly folder and “Show Package Contents” and see which images and other files were included in the assembly. You can see all sizes there.

How large the .app directory is reported to be on a Mac depends on the format of the HD disc format and / or the size of the disc. The amount of raw (dimensional) bytes of data may be less, and the size of the compressed archive is even smaller.
