Responding to universal “start” volume control while the application is running

If the application is not in the foreground, clicking on the track name in Universal Volume Control (UVC) launches the application with the track context information (installed via MediaHistory.Instance.NowPlaying).

However, if the application is already running, such navigation is not performed. I would like to answer it to redirect the user to the “now playing” experience, as the built-in media player does.

Is there an event that I don’t know about, or was this scenario not considered?

As tiwahu mentioned, this problem seems to have been resolved in WP8. Now the application causes exit and restart.

Windows Phone OS handles the playback of a song that you cannot interfere with. That is why from UVC you get to the built-in media player.
